Michelle Mackay

Michelle “Shelley” MacKay, age 67, of Faribault, MN passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 following an extended illness.

Michelle Marie, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Paquette) Cushman, was born on January 14, 1954 in Faribault, MN. Shelley grew up in Faribault and was passionate about theater arts and starred in many musicals and plays. She graduated from the Faribault High School with the Class of 1972. Following graduation, she attended St. Cloud State University and transferred to South Central Community College. She achieved a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. She worked for many years as a Resource Counselor for various group homes. She loved devoting her time to helping the special needs population. While she wasn’t working, Shelley enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Michelle is survived by her children, Molly (Danny Ressler) MacKay and Michael (Holly) MacKay; grandchildren, Riley Velishek, Madeline Voegel, Lachlynn Ressler, and Waylen MacKay; brother, Mark (Jean) Cushman; nephew, Chase (Ashley) Cushman; niece, Katrina (Joel) Rude; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Debra, Vicky and Barbara Cushman.

Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October, 29, 2021 at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home with Father Henry Doyle officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
