Yvonne Anderson

Yvonne M. Anderson, age 83, of Faribault, MN, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society Woodland care facility in Brainerd, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Yvonne Mary was born on July 10, 1934 in Estelline, SD, to Emil and Mary (Gilligan) Resick. She graduated from Hastings High School and furthered her education at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester to be a Registered Nurse. Yvonne was married to the love of her life, James E. Anderson on June 16, 1956 in Sleepy Eye, MN. They moved to Faribault in 1960 and Yvonne continued her nursing career at the Faribault Regional Center for many years, retiring as Assistant Director of Nursing for the hospital and Skilled Nursing unit. Over the numerous years that Jim coached basketball, she was very supportive and often traveled with him to many games. They loved their time spent at the cabin and Yvonne cherished her time with family.

She is survived by three daughters, Jan (and Dean) Herda of Merrifield, MN, Jill Anderson of Cross Lake, MN, Michele (and Larry) Borst Jr. of Brainerd, and a son, James S. Anderson (and Kelly) of Sioux Falls, SD; eight grandchildren, Jackie (and Jeremy) Drager, Tanya Anderson, James R. (and Carly) Anderson, Michael Herda, Angie DeGrood, Matthew (and Shelly) Herda, Ashley Thompson, and Joe Herda; six step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Tom Resick (and Julia) sister, Sharon Sorbel; brother-in-law, Randy (and Bonnie) Anderson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Anderson; infant son, Scott James Anderson; parents, Emil and Mary Resick; brother-in-law, Glen Sorbel, and sister-in-law, JoAnne Anderson.

Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Academy High School or the choice of the donor in memory of Yvonne.
