William Honken

William W. Honken, age 72, of Faribault, MN, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home following an extended illness.

Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 607 2nd Ave. NW, Faribault.

William Wayne was born on January 1, 1945, in Waterville, MN, to William and Genevieve (Dadey) Honken. He graduated from Waterville High School with the class of 1962. Bill married Patricia Weatherhead on October 27, 1962. He was a lifelong farmer and was recognized as the Jaycees Young Farmer of the Year in 1979. Bill also worked construction with Northland Paving and Northwest Bituminous, retiring from paving in 2007. Patricia preceded him in death on October 23, 2005.

He is survived by his sons, Billy (Mary Ann) Honken of Faribault, Mark (Jennifer) Honken of Morristown and their children, Mackenzie and Hailee Honken, and Danny (Erin) Honken of Faribault; siblings, Rita (and the late Jim) Stangler of Kilkenny, Donna (and the late Howard) Voegele of Faribault, Kathy (Kylo) Parks of Faribault, Joyce Anderson (and special friend, Gary) of Elysian, and Kenny (Peggy) Honken of Waterville; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; parents, William and Gen; and brothers-in-law, Jim Stangler and Howard Voegele.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Northfield Hospice in memory of Bill.
