Ward D. Wendt, age 84 of Janesville, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Waterville Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 20th at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Reverend Dr. Larry Griffin, officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services on Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville is handling arrangements. Ward Donald was born February 20, 1928 in Janesville, Minnesota to Christian H. and Emma Martha (Peter) Wendt. Ward attended Trinity Lutheran School and Janesville High School. Ward farmed for 24 years in Alton Township. He was united in marriage to Virginia A. Martinson on November 30, 1974 at Virginia's home on Madison Lake. He had worked for several years for the Burlington Northern Railroad out of Mankato. For over 40 years Ward served Southern Minnesota as a florist, operating Ward Wendt Floral. Ward enjoyed visiting with people, and loved the Janesville Community. He is survived by his nieces, Janice (Sam) Madonna of Montgomery, and Arleen Wendt of Balsam Lake, WI; by his great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews; by his close friends, John and Phyllis Glynn of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia in 1997, his brother Armond (Rosella) Wendt, and his nephew, Philip Wendt.
