Walter Reisdorfer

Walter "Wally" Reisdorfer, age 88, of Faribault, MN, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford. Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Walter Henry was born on December 29, 1929 on their family farm near Adrian, MN, to Joseph and Marie (Wieneke) Reisdorfer. He attended school at St. Columba in Iona, MN. Wally served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 - 1952. He then married Gladys Ann Schoo on June 12, 1952 at St. Columba Church. Wally worked as a steam engineer at the Minnesota Sate Hospital in Faribault for 22 years and with Northwest Airlines for 16 years. He enjoyed flying planes recreationally, woodcarving, and gardening. He was a longtime member of the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 43.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys A. Reisdorfer of Faribault; son, Mark J. (Donna) Reisdorfer of Sellersburg, IN; son-in-law, Patrick (Barb) Snyder of Brule, NE; grandchildren, John P. (Tracy) Snyder (and children, Wyatt and Kinley) of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew (Kelsi) Snyder (and baby due in October) of Anchorage, AK: step-grandchildren, Chris (Leah) Hadden (and children, Gabby, Max, and Nora) of Omaha, NE, and Kayla (Paul) Wahlmeier (and children, Grace and Ethan) of Omaha, NE; sisters, Caroline Schneider of Brooklyn Park, MN, Ruth (Clem) Opatz of Hopkins, MN, Diane Reisdorfer (Dan Kammeyer) of St. Paul, MN, and Kathryn Reisdorfer of St. Paul; sister-in-law, Kathy Reisdorfer of Eagan, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Debra Ann Reisdorfer and Terese (Terri) Snyder; parents, Joe and Marie; and brothers, Richard (Dorothy) and Stanley Reisdorfer.
