Virginia M. Krause, age 84 of rural Waseca, died on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at her home in Woodville Township. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev Stephen D. Bohling officiating. Interment will be in the Woodville Cemetery, Waseca. The Krause family will greet friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Trinity Hall. Virginia Myrtle was born on October 30, 1926 to Harry and Nellie (Cook) McIntyre in Pasadena, California. In 1928 Virginia's family moved to Winnebago, Minnesota. She graduated from Winnebago High School, and went on to complete her training at Mankato Beauty School. Virginia began her long career as a hair stylist in Waseca. She was united in marriage on April 14, 1956 to Lawrence "Shyde" Krause at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. They raised their family and resided in Waseca their entire married life. For many years Virginia owned and operated V & C Beauty Salon in Waseca until her daughter Jackie took over the business. Virginia continued to serve her clients for many years. She was a longtime, faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. She was also a member of the Hope Chapter #34 Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary #228 of Waseca, the V.F.W. Sweet-Sommers Auxiliary #1642, and the Waseca Area Senior Citizens Center. Virginia enjoyed reading, and her cats and dogs. She loved following the sports activities of her son Larry, and her grandchildren Justin and Hailey. She is survived by her children, Jackie Krause, and Larry (Mary Jo) Krause, and her grandchildren Justin and Hailey Krause, all of Waseca; by her sister Pat Shay of Cottage Grove, and her son-in-law Jeff Heutmaker of Cottage Grove. She was preceded in death by her father Harry, mother Nellie, and step-mother Vera Ellis; by her husband Lawrence in October of 1976, and her daughters Sandy Krause and Lisa Jo Heutmaker; by her brother Billy at infancy.
