Violet M. Lambert, age 101 of Faribault, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with the Rev. Fernando Ortega, officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services. Parish prayers will be recited on Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Faribault Area Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Violet Margaret Milner, the daughter of Archie and Wilhelmina (Vandenheuvel) Milner, was born on October 15, 1908 in Royalton, MN. As a young girl Violet and her family moved to Anoka and she attended and graduated from Anoka High School. Following high school Violet attended business school. On November 26, 1931 she was united in marriage to Andrew J. Lambert in Anoka, MN. After their marriage Violet worked as a secretary for a judge at the Anoka County Courthouse. Later they moved to Faribault and Violet worked as a secretary for over 20 years at McQuay's. Andrew preceded her in death on May 28, 1976. Violet was a member of the Rice County Historical Society and the Divine Mercy Catholic Church Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by four children, Sadie Steinberg of Janesville, MN, Gary (Shirley) Lambert of St. Paul, MN, Mary Lou White of Cleveland, TX and Dorothy Karels of Montgomery, MN; by 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; by her sister, Irene Payette of Anoka, MN; by her brother, Irvin (Shirley) Milner of Sun City, AZ and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.
