Violet M. Iverson, age 80, of Mt. Dora, FL and formerly of Faribault, MN, passed away November 16, 2015, at the Avanté at Mt. Dora Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Rev. Craig Breimhorst, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Violet Mae was born on November 11, 1935, in Ottertail, MN to Clarence and Mary (Drawbridge) Huntington. She married Al Iverson on July 2, 1956, in Motley, MN. They lived in Anoka until 1963, and then moved to Faribault. Violet worked for Control Data, was a waitress, and retired from Genova Co. in Faribault after 32 years. She was a member and volunteer for the VFW, Legion, and Moose Auxiliaries. She dedicated a great amount of her volunteerism to the Eagle's Auxiliary and also served as President. Violet loved to make crafty gifts, had a great passion for animals and was a tremendous caretaker for her pets.
She is survived by four children, Donald Iverson (fiancé, Char), Judy (Mark) Hall, Darlene Davis, and Debora Iverson; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Jensen, Genave (Norman) Sand, Betty Potter, Raymond Huntington, and Delbert Huntington; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al on April 25, 2001; parents; son, Wayne Iverson; and brother, Billy Huntington.
