Violet M. Brewer, age 74 of rural Janesville, died on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Mayo Health System in Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City with Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will be in the Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Tuesday morning for one hour prior to services at church. Violet Marie was born on March 23, 1936 in Alma City Minnesota to Albert and Louise (Rudolph) Roeker. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City. In 1954 Violet graduated from Pemberton High School. She went on to further her education at Mankato Beauty School. On August 25, 1957 she was united marriage to James L. Brewer at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Alma City. She owned and operated Vi's Beauty shop in Mapleton for 2 years, as well as helping out on their Freedom Township family farm. Violet was a homemaker with strong faith, and committed to reading her daily devotions. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the St. John's Ladies Aid. Violet enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband James Brewer of Janesville; by her three son's John Brewer of Waseca, Kevin Brewer (special friend Pam Wolfe) of Princeton, and Timothy (Bobbi) Brewer of Mankato; by her three daughters, Sheryl (Merrill) Dahle of Waseca, Janet (Armin) Krause of Chaska, and Barbara (Scott) Eisen of Lewisville, TX; by her 12 grandchildren; by her brother Ervin (Shirley) Roeker of Eagle Lake; by her sister's Mildred Rueckert of New Ulm, and Eunice (Ed) Differding of Forest Lake; by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers Wallace and Duane Roeker and her brother-in-law Ed Rueckert.
