Viola L. Anderson, age 95 of Janesville, died on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Nancy Hansen officiating. Interment will be in the Hebron Cemetery in Judson, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Tuesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Faith Lutheran Church of Janesville. Viola Laverna was born on February 20, 1914 in Yoder, Colorado to John V. and Lottie L. (Correll) Heaston. She graduated from Tructon High School in Tructon, Colorado. Viola went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mankato State College in education. She was united in marriage to Roy Clifford Anderson on February 20, 1932 in Colorado. Viola was a grade school teacher for 26 years in South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. She finished her career in Janesville after 18 years of service, retiring in 1977. She volunteered for many years at the Janesville Nursing Home and MRCI in Mankato. Viola is survived by her daughter Helen (Klaren) Alexander of Minocqua, WI; by her sons Theodore (Joan) Anderson of Albert Lea, Myron (Donna) Anderson of Coon Rapids, and Clifford (Barbara) of Bloomington; by 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy on November 21, 1986; by her infant son Harold; by her sisters Irene and Ester and her brother Arthur.
