Verna E. Richter, age 63, of Faribault, died suddenly on December 19, 2008 at her home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Verna Ellen Craig, the daughter of Vernon and Genevieve (Nutt) Craig, was born on January 10, 1945 in Fairmont, MN. She graduated from Fairmont High School and Kendall College in Chicago. Verna worked as a computer programmer in Washington D.C., where she met Erich Richter. They were married on July 30, 1970 in Arlington, VA. Verna and Erich lived in Spokane, WA for 20 years and raised two daughters, Ingrid and Morgan. In Spokane, Verna was involved in many community projects, and their family enjoyed being involved in many community plays through their church. They moved to Faribault in 1993. She is survived by her husband, Erich Richter of Faribault; two daughters, Ingrid Richter of New York, and Morgan Richter of Los Angeles; two brothers, Melvin (LaVonne) Craig of Mankato, and Don (Sue) Craig of St. James, MN; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Lenz; and two brothers, Glen and Bill Craig.
