Troy D. Shaske (aka Slick), age 54 of Owatonna, MN and formerly of Faribault, MN, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Regency Hospital in Golden Valley, MN following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Troy Daniel, the son of Daniel and Sheila (King) Shaske, was born on January 19, 1964 in Faribault. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1983 and attended technical college for business management. Troy worked at the Faribault Regional Center in the early 1990s then in sales with Schwan's for many years. Most recently Troy worked at Traditions in Owatonna, where he thoroughly enjoyed developing lasting relationships with the residents. He cooked for the residents and helped care for the facility in many different capacities. On July 27, 2013, he married Sheila (Pofahl) Swanson. Troy was previously married to Lisa Summers. Troy enjoyed fishing, bingo, gambling, was a pool shark, and was also known for creating the "Slick Shuffle". He loved finding a "deal" through many different avenues including online auctions and coupons. Most of all he loved being a papa.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Shaske; children, Toinette "Toni" (Brandon) Gliem, Jared (Erin) Dewaard, Alex Wolters, Travis Peterson, Jade Shaske (fiancé, Emmit Culver), and Jace Shaske; step-children, Joshua (Heidi) Janovsky and Amber Janovsky; grandchildren, Anika, Brayden, Emmit, Keylee, Xander, Jayvyn, Jaelyn, Hailey, Macy, Chenelle, Sierra, Nora, and one expected in January; siblings, D'Arcy Swanson, Laura (Dave) Reineke, Shayne Gillis, and Dustin Shaske; former brother-in-law, Tyler Swanson; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Shaske and Sheila Duffney; and Toinette's mother, Molly Ames.
