Thomas William Roach, age 44, of Faribault, died suddenly on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Tom, the son of the late James Roach and Anne (Michels) Roach-Stegmeir, was born on December 6, 1966, in Faribault. He was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He attended Faribault Public Schools graduating in 1985; then continued his education attending Bemidji State University, U of M-Morris, Faribault Vocational School and Dunwoody Institute obtaining degrees in carpentry and architecture. Tom worked as an architect, farmer and carpenter, most recently working for Met-Con Construction Company in Faribault. Tom was united in marriage with Lisa Sammon in 1992, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault. Tom and Lisa lived in Lakeville, MN; later moving to Faribault to be closer to the Sammon Farm where he was involved in the farming operation. Tom and Lisa were married for 17 years. They are proud parents of their two boys, Collin and Preston. Tom was active in many organizations such as Minnesota Pork Producers, 4-H, Cub Scouts, and M.A.R.L. program. He enjoyed the outdoors which included fishing and hunting, and especially spending time at the family hunting shack in northern Minnesota. Tom is survived by his sons, Collin and Preston; mother, Anne Roach-Stegmeir (Paul Stegmeir); brothers, John (Brenda) Roach, Patrick (Mary) Roach of North Mankato, Timothy (Nicole) Roach, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James Roach in 1992. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Dr., Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be designated to an Education Fund for his sons.
