Thomas E. Frydenlund (Tinker), age 69, of Faribault, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following a brief illness.
A time of gathering for family and friends will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. A service of remembrance will take place on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Thomas Eugene Frydenlund was born on December 21, 1943 in Faribault to Benjamin and Sadie (Brown) Frydenlund. He attended Faribault High School and then served in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge from Navy he married Eileen Kane on December 18, 1965. They had two daughters, Nicolle and Dawn, and were later divorced. Tom worked for many years as a commercial painter in the Faribault area.
Tom had a great love for dogs. He provided great care for his dogs and for many other's through dog sitting when asked. He was a kind and giving man, helping friends and others no matter what was asked of him. He also was great with children and for many years helped at Little Bears Day Care. Tom was a patriot, taking great pride in his service in the Navy and acknowledging anyone in uniform for their service to our country. His hobbies included fishing and watching Twins and Vikings games.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicolle (Terry) Schneider of Eden Prairie, MN, Dawn Frydenlund of Minnetonka, and Vicki (Rich) Halsted of North Branch, MN; grandchildren, Nicholas and P.J. Schneider, and Coco and Andy Halsted; brother, Doug (Karen) Frydenlund of Faribault; sister, Carol Kisor of St. Peter; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Barb Hamilton.
