Thomas Eli Jandro, of Faribault, MN, passed away March 9, 2024, at the age of 90 surrounded by loving family.

 

Tom was born on January 15, 1934, at the family farm to Ed and Elizabeth (Vandeputte) Jandro.  He graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School in 1952.  He married the love of his life Phyllis Parkos on April 20, 1954.  They moved to Mankato for a time when he started his 40+ year career in the insurance business with Metropolitan Life.  He served as a salesman and district manager.  After a short time in Mankato, Tom moved his family back to Faribault where they have lived since 1959.

 

In his spare time, Tom could be found up north at his beloved lake home near Nevis, MN.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Tom followed Minnesota sports teams and BA and Faribault High School sports teams with a passion.

 

Tom belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church.

 

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Phyllis of Faribault; daughters, Mary Kay (Bob) Wilson of Austin, MN, Lou Ann (George) Lindblade of Sioux City, IA, Barb (Fred) Grote of Nerstrand, MN; sons, Tony (Sue) of Faribault, Mike (Laurie) of Apple Valley, MN, and Jim (Dawn) of Lakeville, MN; honorary daughter Mary (Ken) Partyka of Circle Pines, MN; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Joe (Sandy) of Faribault; sisters, Lois Malecha, Betty Mullenberg, and Diane Rech, all of Faribault; sisters-in-law, Pat Jandro of Faribault, Ramona Jandro and Edith Jandro of Owatonna, MN, Lois Sheridan of Rosemount, MN, and Sherry Martinez of Idyllwild, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth; brothers, Stanley, Cyril, Howard, Walter, Roger, Dale, Fred, and Eli; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and great grandson, Blake Wilson.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault.  Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.


Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Academy or Divine Mercy Catholic Church & School in memory of Tom.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
