Therese Zuilen

Therese Van Zuilen, age 91 of Faribault, passed away on February 20, 2018 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 15 3rd Ave SW, Faribault, MN. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave N., Faribault, and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Academy, Divine Mercy Catholic Church or The Society of St. Vincent DePaul in memory of Therese.

Therese Mary, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Haviland) Schuller, was born on December 13, 1926 in Faribault, MN. She attended Bethlehem Academy and graduated with the class of 1944. On June 18, 1946 Therese was united in marriage to Philip Van Zuilen at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Therese was a homemaker for her family and worked as a Human Services Technician at the Faribault Regional Center for 8 years. She was also a very active volunteer having donated her time to the Paul Wellstone campaign, Meals on Wheels, and church. Therese enjoyed canning, gardening, sewing and baking. More than anything though she loved being a mother and a grandma, opening her heart and home to everyone. The family extends thanks to Dr. Cahill and the staffs at Pleasant Manor and District One Hospital for the care of Therese.

She is survived by her three daughters, Roni (Wayne) Wangsness of Madison Lake, Liz Van Zuilen of Faribault and Karen (Larry) Domeier of New Ulm; by eight sons, Gregory (Karen) Van Zuilen of Spicer, Jim (Cindy) Van Zuilen of Faribault, Dan (Becky) Van Zuilen of Faribault, Kevin (Debbie) Van Zuilen of Faribault, Cris (Karrie) Van Zuilen of Medford, Paul (Linda) Van Zuilen of Farmington, Michael (Amy Sprain) Van Zuilen of Faribault and Phil (Julie) Van Zuilen of Cannon Falls; by two sisters, Joan (Martin) Heuer of Rosemount, and Bette Jo (Milbert) Schick of Aberdeen, SD; her twenty-four grandchildren, Eryk (Sarah) Wangness, Heather Langer, Angelica (Kent) King, Brian (Danell) Caron, Teren Van Zuilen, Allison Van Zuilen, Katie (Tom) Mann, Jackie (Nick) Eibensteiner, Chad (Jessica) Van Zuilen, Sarah Blow, Megan (Julio) Gasco, Kali (Joe) Yeado, Nick Domeier, Emily Domeier, Paige (Alex) Hohertz, Tess Van Zuilen, Luke Van Zuilen, Amber (Dhia) Mansour, Tyler (Deanna) Van Zuilen, Tavia Van Zuilen, Abby Van Zuilen, Nathan Van Zuilen and Hayden Van Zuilen; her seventeen great-grandchildren, Jade, Grant, Lynsey, Mitchell, Perrin, Braden, Harper, Ryker, Addison, Carson, Mason, Hunter, Adrian, Rania, Aziz, Rihem and Yassin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Phillip; by brothers, Gerald Schuller, John Schuller and James Schuller; by sisters, Marcella Schuller, Patricia Ball and Majorie Mazurek.
