Theresa Harty

Theresa M. Harty, age 76, of Waseca passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Gregory Leif, Officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Waseca at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services. The rosary will be recited on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and the parish prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m.

Theresa Margaret, the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Swingler) Feist, was born on December 19, 1939 in Edgely, ND. Theresa attended Ellendale High School and graduated with the class of 1957. On August 20, 1959 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Harty in Aberdeen, SD. LeRoy preceded her in death on May 31, 1976. Theresa had worked in the PCA office for Waseca County and most recently had worked as a matron at Birds Eye. Theresa was a great cook and she loved feeding everyone that stopped at her home and would be upset with her boys if they didn't show up for lunch. She also enjoyed thrift store shopping, grocery shopping, playing the slot machines at the casino's, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her six children, Mary DeCory (Richard Raimann) of Wells, MN, LeRoy Harty Jr., George (Erin) Harty, Brian (Mary) Harty, Chuck (Amber) Harty and Russell Harty, all of Waseca, MN; by 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; by three sisters, Margie (Harold) Schlepp of Waseca, MN, Eliza (Robert) Marinack of Wisconsin and Mary (Earl) Webster of Ellendale, ND and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, special friend, Elroy Raimann, by her sister, Etta Feist and by five brothers, Sam, Kash, Eugene, Vallie and Joe Feist.
