Theodore G. "Ted" Buendorf, age 78, of Mound, MN and formerly of Faribault, died on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia, MN following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault, with the Rev. Mark Johnson, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to services.
Theodore George, the son of Walter and Pauline (Dutcher) Buendorf, was born on March 19, 1938 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1956. After high school, Ted served in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge, Ted worked for over 30 years as a highly regarded Tool and Die Maker at Honeywell. His skill and craftsmanship was utilized on the most precise and complex devices. He shot trap in 3 leagues for many years, often winning top Gun honors. He also was the go-to guy for Tonka fishing information at the Minnetonka Sportsmen Club where he was an Honorable Life Member. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Vikings, pitching horseshoe's with his family and friends and bowling.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Joe) Miller of Lakeville, MN and Lori Buendorf and fiancé Gary Bonnet of Mound, MN; by three grandchildren, Nicole (Jeremy) Paul, Dana (Abe) Smith and Angela Tonjum and fiancé Pat Farrell; by six great grandchildren and two step grandchildren; by three siblings, Muriel (Bill) Jensen of Yakima, WA, Don (Kathy) Buendorf of Faribault and Tom Buendorf of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Dennis Buendorf.
