Steven R. "Whitey" Thraen, age 59 of Faribault, MN, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Private family services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Steven Richard, the son of Duane and Mary (O'Neill) Thraen, was born on June 18, 1959 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1977. Steven worked as a truck driver for many years. He was an avid sports fan, especially for all Minnesota teams. He enjoyed playing cards, riding motorcycles, spending time with friends and family and was an animal lover.
He is survived by his siblings, Nancy (Stan) Leibold of Rochester, MN, Teresa (Bob) Ozmun of Faribault, MN, Michael Thraen of Colorado, Mary Bale of Rochester, MN and Andrew (Debi) Thraen of Brooklyn Park, MN; by nieces and nephews, Delores (Dan) Clark, Kari Thraen, Missi Thraen, Jay (Trisha) Ozmun, Travis Ozmun, Amanda Bale, Michael Thraen Jr., Aaron Thraen, Lisa (Tony) Rehman, Candi (Adam) Shreve and Nathan Bale. Steven is also survived by a group of special life long friends and by his beloved dog Joey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
