Shirley Thibault, age 92, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Dr., Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Shirley Mae Mahoney, the daughter of Ambrose and Katherine (Delesha) Mahoney, was born on May 6, 1919 in North Minneapolis. She graduated from Randolph High School. Shirley was united in marriage to Henry Thibault Sr. on April 2, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. They lived and farmed at the Thibault homestead in Wells Township, Rice County, their entire married life. Henry preceded her in death on September 25, 2005. Shirley enjoyed her crafts, especially embroidery, needlepoint and making Christmas decorations. She was passionate about gardening, whether it was canning or caring for her flower garden. She loved playing cards and treasured her time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Donald Thibault of Bloomington, MN, Henry Jr. (Darlene) Thibault of Faribault, and Geraldine (Alan) Struss of Owatonna; daughter-in-law, Connie Thibault of Faribault; brother, Dan Mahoney of Bloomington, MN; nine grandchildren, Tamara (Eric) Duffney, Anna (Shane) Meyer, Rhonda (Jamie) Nowaczewski, Laura (Steve) Gjerald, Aimee Thibault, Andy Thibault, Daniel (Sarah) Struss, Brian Struss, and Aaron Struss; 11 great grandchildren, Paige, Kiera, and Cadyn Duffney, Ethan and Dylann Meyer, Leah and Jameson Nowaczewski, Chloe Gjerald, and Paytyn, Kaiden, and Lilly Struss; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sr.; parents; son, Ronald Thibault; daughter-in-law, Lorita Thibault; sisters, Loraine Montague and Maxine Schneider; and brothers, John, Tom, Glen, and Jim Mahoney. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Academy High School in memory of Shirley.
