Shirley M. Kotek, age 72, of Faribault, MN, passed away unexpectedly, April 14, 2016, at the District One Hospital in Faribault, surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Interment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery, MN.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Shirley Marie was born on August 20, 1943, in Erin Township, Rice County, MN, to John J. and Sylvia M. (Peroutka) Kotek. Shirley resided in Cambridge and St. Paul, prior to moving to Faribault in 2003, living at Our Homes South, Faribault Five. She enjoyed the casinos, bingo, Elvis music, and her day programs at Cedar House in Faribault and Straight River Enterprises in Medford.
She is survived by four siblings, John A. Kotek of Faribault, Gary (Lurene) Kotek of Wood Lake, MN, Linda (Douglas) Schlueter of Faribault, and Steve (Michelle) Kotek of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Kotek; sister-in-law, Joyce Kotek; and nephew, Jason Schlueter.
