Shelly Patricia Meehl (Perrizo) died peacefully in her home on November 12, 2023, after a long battle with a rare neurodegenerative disorder.
Shelly was born on July 26, 1962, in New Ulm, MN to Janice (Dehmlow) and Patrick Perrizo. She moved to Faribault, MN, with her family, including brothers Timothy and Thomas, in 1969. She graduated from Faribault Senior High School in 1980. She worked at Lavender Inn, Evergreen Knoll and Rust Consulting, where she made many lifelong friends.
Shelly was a loving wife, devoted mother, dedicated daughter, loyal sister, beloved aunt, and trusted friend.
She married David Meehl in 1981. Shelly and Dave shared a love for adventure and enjoyed cycling, kayaking, hiking, snowmobiling, snowboarding and camping together. They made a beautiful home for their family, and raised their three children there. Over the last several years, Dave became Shelly’s primary caregiver and he devoted his life to ensuring she was safe, happy and comfortable.
Shelly loved being a mother and doted on her three children, Angela, Samantha, and Jesse. She instilled in them her belief in kindness, compassion and fairness. She cared for them fiercely and believed in them unconditionally.
Shelly was an adoring grandmother and was so proud of each of her three grandchildren, Antonio, Madeline, and Tabitha.
Shelly was a gifted gardener and she created a warm and beautiful home where she loved to bring her family together. She cooked large, elaborate feasts for her whole family to enjoy.
Shelly is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Janice Perrizo, son-in-law, Sean Lipinski, and nephew, Jacob Perrizo. She is survived by her loving husband, Dave Meehl; children, Angela Pirkl, Samantha Lipinski, and Jesse Meehl (Heather Klein); grandchildren, Antonio Lopez Pirkl, Madeline Luhman, and Tabitha Lipinski; brothers, Timothy and Thomas (Terri) Perrizo; parents-in-law, Donald and Bernadette Meehl; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will he held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, Faribault with Pastor David Folkerts officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
