Sharon M. Hoaglund, age 78 of Kenyon, MN passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, surrounded by her family following an extended illness.
Sharon Marie, the daughter of Theodore and Dolores (St. Mars) Reichert was born on May 3, 1946 in Faribault, MN. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1964. On August 3, 1968 she was united in marriage to Gene Hoaglund at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Gene preceded her in death on May 15, 2003. Sharon worked at different businesses in Faribault, starting in the Catalog Department at Montgomery Wards, then moving to Northland Plastics, cooking at Bethlehem Academy High School and different nursing homes in Faribault and retiring from the Minnesota Correctional Facility where she retired as a Supervisor with the Anagram Mylar balloons. Sharon enjoyed doing puzzle books, collecting lighthouses and roosters, camping, fishing, cooking, writing letters and cards and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Hoaglund of Kenyon, MN, Chad (Christine) Hoaglund of Solon Springs, WI and Jason (Bobbi) Hoaglund of Wanamingo, MN; by 10 grandchildren, Zachary Hoaglund, Zury Hoaglund, Zane Hoaglund, Zoe Hoaglund, Joe Hoaglund, Nicole Hoaglund, Kenny Hoaglund, Annie Hoaglund, Austin Hoaglund and Tyler Hoaglund; by 16 great grandchildren; by her siblings, Jim Reichert of Faribault, MN, Linda (Dave) Schmitz of Faribault, MN, Debra (John) Truman of Florida, Diane (Dennis) Rothstein of Faribault, MN, Michele (Randy) DeMars of Faribault, MN and Mary (Dave) Owens of Burnsville, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Jeff and Tom Reichert, by her Father and Mother-in-law, Joseph and Ocie Hoaglund, and by several brother and sister-in-law’s.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kenyon, MN. Interment will be held at Frontenac Cemetery in Frontenac, MN.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.
