Scott M. LaCanne, age 40, of Faribault, died peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester after a long battle with health problems. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Dr.) in Faribault. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Scott. Scott Matthew LaCanne, the son of Dennis and Jane (Sorgatz) LaCanne, was born on September 20, 1971 in Faribault. He attended the Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1990. Following high school, Scott attended Minnesota State University-Mankato and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1996. Scott worked at both Hy-Vee and Nelson's Super Value in Faribault. He enjoyed ice fishing, playing cards, watching sports and spending time with family, especially his nephew Tyler. Scott also enjoyed volunteering for the Owatonna Express Hockey Team. He is survived by his parents, Dennis (Jane) LaCanne of Faribault; his brother, Brian (Tricia) LaCanne of Hutchinson; his sister, Stacy (Erik) Carney of Apple Valley and their son, Tyler and by many aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francis (Eileen) LaCanne and by his maternal grandparents, Harold (Gertrude) Sorgatz.
