Sandy Sheedy

December 9, 1956 — February 15, 2015

Sandy J. Sheedy, age 58, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2015, at her home following a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

Sandra Jean was born on December 9, 1956, in Wells, MN, to Robert and Mavis (Peterson) Schultz. She graduated from Wells-Easton High School and Austin Vo-Tech where she received her Cosmetology licensure. Sandy married Patrick D. Sheedy on May 21, 1977 in Wells. She worked as a hairstylist for 10 years in Austin. For 26 years Sandy worked as a jewelry store manager in Austin, Mankato, and Burnsville; friends and family referred to her as the "diamond girl." Sandy enjoyed playing pool, cards, fishing, cooking, feeding the birds, and was a major Minnesota sports fan. Most of all she loved to spend time with her dog and best friend, Annie.

Sandy loved many and many loved her. She enjoyed family and friends and was excited about becoming a Nana - her first grandbaby will arrive in the spring. Sandy loved the "lake life" and made the most of every minute, every day. She will truly be missed on earth and will flourish wherever she lands.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Sheedy of Faribault; son, Dustin (Jenny) Sheedy of Lakeville, MN; daughter, Jodi Sheedy of Woodbury, MN; father, Robert Schultz of Wells; father- and mother-in-law, Roger (Doreen) Johnson of Faribault; sister, Laurie (Tim) Schrader of Bloomington, MN; brothers, Terry (Beth) Schultz of Faribault, Steve (Julie) Schultz of Sauk Rapids, MN, and Mike (Tami) Schultz of Lakeville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis.

A celebration of Sandy's life will be held Saturday, February 21st from 3-7 pm at the Morristown Community Center in Morristown, MN. Sandy had a great love of animals and their well-being; in lieu of flowers, her wish was to aid in the care and rescue of pups statewide.
