Ruth Ann Spaetgens

Ruth A. Spaetgens, age 92, of Faribault, MN passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Allina Health Faribault Medical Center.

Ruth Ann, the daughter of Edward and Antoinette (Hallway) Braun, was born on February 6, 1932 in Faribault, MN. She grew up in Faribault and graduated from the Faribault Senior High School with the Class of 1949. She married Michael Spaetgens in 1953 and had four children. She spent her life devoted to raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her everything. She was a proud member of the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville, MN and loved spending time with her friends playing cards. 

Ruth is survived by her children, Michael (Jan Peyton) Spaetgens, Thomas Spaetgens, Catherine (Brian) Zastoupil, and Christine (Jeff) Racine; grandchildren, Charlie (Tiffany Huddleston) Spaetgens, Brinna(Sam) Sallee, Kelsey (Ethan) Norstog, Hanna Zastoupil, Camden (Mindy) Racine, Kayla (Sean) Healy, and Megan (Clayton Huss) Racine; great-grandchildren, Brady, Judah, Noah, Brooke, Aubyn, Mathias, Emerson, Hadley, Leo & Elle; sister-in-law, Trudy Joerg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Patrick; husband; and parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of St. Patrick, Shieldsville with Father Timothy Sandquist officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at church prior to Mass.
