Ruby A. Raths, age 83, of Faribault, passed away April 16, 2015, at the Oakwood Hills Adult Foster Care in Faribault.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault, with Rev. Craig Breimhorst, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating, followed by fellowship.
Memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruby Alberta was born on October 18, 1931, in Lake City, MN to Albert and Aurelia (Pruter) Fick. She was united in marriage to Howard Raths on July 8, 1950, in Lake City. They started their farming life on Howard's family farm in Newport, and later farmed in Kenyon, Claremont, Zumbrota and Faribault. She was a homemaker for her family and also had worked in the kitchen at the Owatonna Hospital, as an aide at the Faribault State Hospital, caring for the handicapped in a group homes, and assisted at a childcare center. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting, reading, and bowling. Ruby also always had her dog, Hershey, at her side.
She is survived by her husband, Howard of Faribault; children, Peggy (Bob) Tri of Zumbrota, MN, and Ron Raths of Rochester, MN; daughter-in-law, Nancy Raths of Wanamingo, MN; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Rollie Fick of Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Raths; and siblings, Roy, Ruth, Jean, Jane, and Harold.
