Rosemary Jean Halleck, age 86, of Waseca passed away on November 17, 2014 at her home following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion following services. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
It was Rosemary's wish that her body be donated to science to aid in future scientific research and development.
Memorials are preferred to the Waseca American Legion Post 228/Auxillary.
Rosemary Jean, daughter of Hjalmer and Mable (Rooth) Nelson, was born on October 17, 1928 in Fargo, North Dakota. She grew up in Deephaven before moving to Excelsior, Minnesota. There, she attended and graduated from Excelsior High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Earl Halleck in 1952 in Excelsior and they later divorced. She moved to Waseca with her family in 1971. Rosemary worked at Brown Printing until her retirement. Prior to that, she was a homemaker most of her life. She was an active member of the American Legion and she loved playing bingo, cards, Yahtzee, spending time at the casinos and being with her friends and family.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Michael (Lonnie) Halleck of Austin, Texas, Terri Halleck of Waseca, Lissa Halleck of Waseca, Bradley (Terry) Halleck of Eagle Lake, Earl Jason Halleck of Austin, Minnesota, and Matthew (Tracy) Halleck of Rochester; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Brian (Mary) Nelson of Fargo, North Dakota; sister-in-law, Rosalie Nelson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wayne Nelson.
