Rosella A. Tollefson, age 86 of Waseca, died on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Lake Shore Inn of Waseca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Marty Schaefer, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:30 until the hour of service, at Sacred Heart Church. McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca is handling arrangements. Rosella Anna was born on July 3, 1924 in Fountain City, Minnesota to John Rochus and Rosella Katherine (Feuling) Waletzke. She was united in marriage to Russell Herbert Tollefson in May of 1946 in Arcadia, Wisconsin. Rosella and Russell raised their family and resided in Waseca their entire married life. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Rosella loved to cook and bake for her family. Her specialty was homemade vegetable soup with dumplings. She loved flowers in her yard during the summer. Generous to fault, people down on their luck often knocked at the back door for a home cooked meal. The word was out that Rosella would give them a plate of food and a big glass of milk. She enjoyed time spent with her family, and playing bingo. She is survived by her children Joann (Gary) Wollschlager of Lakeville, Carl Tollefson of Waseca, Connie Splett of Janesville, and Joyce (Rick) Sikel of Waseca; by 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; by her sisters Frances Anderson of Circle Pines, and Doris Holtz of Mt. St. Helen, OR; by her brother-in-law Arvid Tollefson and sister-in-law Alice Labs, both of Waseca She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Russell and son Gary (Karee) Tollefson; by her son-in-law Gary Splett, and daughter-in-law Christine Tollefson; by 4 sisters and 1 brother. Casketbearers are Rosella's grandsons: Cory Tollefson, Jamie Tollefson, Todd Tollefson, Jason Tollefson, Kim Wollschlager, Casey Wollschlager, Rodney Sikel, Jeremy Sikel, and Jeff Splett.
