Rosella Gleason

Rosella "Roe" Gleason, age 99, of Waseca, MN, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Fr. Gregory Leif, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Waseca Area Senior Citizen Center or the donor's choice in memory of Roe.

Arrangements are with the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca.

Rosella Josephine was born on September 18, 1916 in Otisco Township, Waseca County, to Carl and Laura (Tollefson) Munson. After graduation she married James Gleason on December 9, 1939, in Waseca, where they farmed and raised three sons, James Jr., John, and Robert. She was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Roe was employed for 20 years at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, working in the Dietary Department. After retiring, she was a volunteer for many years, calling weekly bingo at the nursing home. She was a member of the Waseca Area Senior Citizen Center and enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, and casino gambling with family and friends.

Roe is survived by two sons, James Jr. (Jane), and John, both of Waseca; daughter-in-law, Vicki of Waterville, MN; four grandchildren, Michelle, Daniel (Karen), Kate (Marty), and Eric (Carley); nine great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Roe was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Carl and Laura; son, Robert; infant daughter, and sister, Madge (George) Clayton.
