Rose Marie Loeffler, age 82, of Eagle Lake passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Laurel's Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair with Father Michael Cronin officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Rose Marie, daughter of Leo and Antonia (Iverson) DeMars, was born on February 5, 1934 in Elk River, Minnesota. In 1945, her family moved to St. Clair. Rose attended and graduated from Mankato High School in 1951. On December 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to James Loeffler at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Clair. They made their lifelong home on the farm where they raised their family. She retired from MSU-Mankato in the Student Union. Rose was an avid walker. She loved playing cards, especially bridge, and she enjoyed spending many winters in Pharr, TX with her sisters.
She is survived by her five children, Alan (Donna) Loeffler of Altura, MN, Terri Loeffler of St. Paul, MN, Jay Loeffler of Eagle Lake, MN, Pat Loeffler of Eagle Lake, MN, and Julie (Paul) Bowe of Mankato, MN; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Nicole Duenes (Mike Young), Joe Duenes, Jennifer Loeffler and her children, Hailey and Ryder, Ryan (Hilari) Workman and their daughter, LylaBelle, Jessica (Justin) Hansen and their children, Aaron, Madison, and Colbie, Megan Loeffler, Heidi Loeffler, Andrew Loeffler, and Isaac Loeffler; sisters, Shirley Fitzloff of Mankato, Jackie Haley of Waseca, Jan Ellis of Waseca, Kathy (Tom) Wright of Reston, VA, and Pat (Tony) Staloch of Janesville; brother-in-law, John (Pat) Loeffler of Janesville; sister-in-law, Monica Dauffenbach-Ahern of Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and his parents, Andrew and Ellen Loeffler; brother, LaVerne DeMars; sisters, Darlene Kulseth, Joyce Hill, and Donna Danberry.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Leon Tacheny and his family for their care and support, and to the caregivers at the hospital and Laurel's Peak.
