Ronald C.H. McMullen, died on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at his home in rural Waseca at the age of 65 years, 4 months, 11 days. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with Rev. Roger Haug, officiating. The McMullen Family will greet friends on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service, at McRaith Funeral Home. Ron was born February 17, 1943 in Culver City, California to Edward and Margaret (Bast) McMullen. Ron was a 1962 graduate of Big Lake High School in Big Lake, Minnesota. On March 7, 1964 he married Katherine Graeber at Saron Luhteran Church in Big Lake. Ron entered military service in 1965, serving four years in the United States Navy in San Padro, CA. Following his military duty, he moved his family back to Big Lake where he began a long career with Great River Energy (United Power Association) in Elk River. After 29 years of service, Ron retired in October of 1999. He later worked part time at Ray's Carpet in Big Lake. Ron and Kay moved to Waseca in 2005, and for the last seven years have wintered in Yuma, AZ. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Katherine "Kay"; by his three children Nancy Skaar of Oakdale, MN, Lora (Dan) Haley of Waseca, MN, and Ryan (Evie) McMullen of Memphis, TN; by nine grandchildren, Amanda, Paige, and Tabitha Skaar, Courtney and Dylan Romain, Matthew and Sarah Haley, Elizabeth and Michael McMullen; by his brother Bob (Judy) McMullen of Buffalo, MN, and his sister Sue Marks of Zimmerman, MN; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law William "Bill" Marks.
