Robert G. "Bob" West, age 96 of Faribault, MN died on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the District One Hospital in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Robert Glen, the son of Robert and Anna Mae (Hall) West, was born on September 29, 1921 in Estherville, IA. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Bob worked at various businesses over his career including Fischer and Rudd Construction, Jerome Foods and finished his career working 18 years for Faribault Foods. Bob enjoyed playing pull tabs and watching western shows and sports on TV. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 43 and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his niece, Delores "Dolly" Caron of Owatonna, MN and by many friends, including special friends, Ron Caron and Cindy Ford, both of Faribault, MN and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Bernice Gage, Fern Busey and Blanche Vanderhop, by four brothers, Ivan, Charles, George and Everett West.
