Robert J. Paquette, age 80 of Faribault, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Sacred Heart in Faribault with the Rev. Fernando Ortega officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services. Parish prayers will be recited on Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. Robert James Paquette, the son of Hilaire and Mildred (Bull) Paquette was born on June 4, 1928 in Faribault. He attended Bethlehem Academy High School. Bob served in the National Guard and his unit was called to active duty during the Korean War. After his service time Bob worked for several years at Voegel's Dairy in Faribault. Later he did body work for his uncle in Stillwater and also worked at Brodie's and repaired sewing machines for B&J Sewing. When his parent's health started to fail, Bob began taking care of the family farm in Cannon City Township. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He is survived by his brothers, Stanley Paquette and Dale (Kay) Paquette, both of Faribault; by his brother in law, Robert Cushman of Faribault and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Cushman and three nieces, Debbie, Vickie and Barbara Cushman.
