Robert J. Martinez, age 40, of Owatonna, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault. Interment will be at the Resurrection Cemetery in Medford. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Parish prayers will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Robert James Martinez, the son of Crispulo and Josephine (Matejcek) Martinez, was born on October 15, 1969 in Owatonna. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1988 and Austin Technical College in 1990 to be an electronic technician. During his years in school, he worked at HyVee in Faribault and Austin. Following Technical College, Rob worked at Walter Electric in New Ulm for 5 years before moving to Owatonna in 1995 to work at SPX. He currently was working at SPX in the Diagnostics Division as an electronic technician. Rob enjoyed computers, fishing, traveling and caring for his home. He is survived by his parents, Cris and Josephine of Faribault; siblings, Richard (Ann) Martinez of Faribault and Jolene Martinez of Shakopee; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and other relatives. Memorials may be designated to the choice of the donor in memory of Rob. Directions to Divine Mercy Catholic Church:
