Robert Dee

Robert H. “Bob” Dee, age 92 of Faribault, MN, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home at Pleasant View Estates in Faribault following an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault with Fr. Kevin Kenney officiating.  Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault with military honors conducted by the Rice County Central Veterans Organization.

Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Robert Harold, the son of William and Mary (Stadler) Dee, was born on October 7, 1926 in Faribault, MN.  He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1944.  Following high school Bob served in the U.S. Navy and later was honorably discharged.  Bob worked for 27 years as a Postal Clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Faribault and also worked at Dandelet’s Jewelry doing watch repair.  On December 15, 1972 he was united in marriage to Margaret Looney at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault.  Bob had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh.  He enjoyed coaching softball, golfing, hunting and especially time spent fishing.  Bob also enjoyed his hobby of Matchitecture structure building and has completed many projects that he has shared with others.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Bernadette) Dee of Faribault, MN; by four siblings, Donald Dee of Mesa, AZ, Thomas (Joan) Dee of Faribault, MN, Patrick Dee of St. Paul, MN and Kathy Peterka of St. Paul, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by three brothers, William, Richard and James Dee and by his sister, Jean Smiley.
