Rita L. Knight, age 86 of Faribault, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with the Rev. Fernando Ortega officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. Rita Lorraine LeBlanc, the daughter of Gilbert and Cora (Lucier) LeBlanc, was born on October 12, 1923 in Faribault. She attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1941. On November 18, 1948 she was united in marriage to L.G. Knight at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Mr. Knight preceded her in death in 1969. After their marriage Rita worked for 37 years at the office at the Faribault Woolen Mill, retiring in 1986. Over the years Rita had been active in different groups at her church. Rita enjoyed all of her family and had great pride and joy for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Gary) Archambault of Bloomington, MN; by two grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle) Archambault and Megan (Nate) Splittstoesser; by two great grandchildren, Claire and Will Archambault; by her brother in law, Buzz Campbell of Bloomington, MN and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, Laura LeBlanc, Phoebe Ross and Virginia "Pat" Campbell and by her brother, Raymond LeBlanc.
