Richard Stanek

Richard D. Stanek, age 81, of Faribault, MN passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Emeralds of Faribault.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. The service will also be live-streamed through a link found on Richard’s obituary page at www.parkerkohlfuneralhome.com.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Richard David, the son of Rudolph and Emma (Springer) Stanek, was born on March 25, 1939 in Faribault. Richard grew up in Faribault and was united in marriage to Mary Dulac on October 24, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault, MN. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage and 5 children. Richard worked for Thermo King as a welder for 30 years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed welding, woodworking, spending time with his family, playing horseshoes, and he especially loved fishing. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 43 and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Faribault.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Deb (Tony) Zobel of Faribault and Amy Stanek of Faribault; son in law, David Schuenke; grandchildren, Dominic Stanek, Lisa Schuenke, and Sarah Schuenke; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Stanek; daughters, JoAnne Stanek and Pamela Schuenke; and his parents.
