Richard Nagle

June 30, 1941 — June 6, 2014

Richard F. (Dick, Rich) Nagle, 72 of Dover, PA, and formerly of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2014 in York Hospital, York, PA following an extended illness.

Richard, born and raised in Faribault was the son of the late Clement P. and Marguerite C. (Hayes) Nagle of Faribault. He was a 1959 graduate from Bethlehem Academy (BA). Following graduation Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy and in 1963 was honorably discharged. He then enrolled at the University of MN majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Richard accepted a position with Univac (now Unisys) in 1966, and after several job related moves, settled in Paoli, PA where he lived for 25 years. He remained with Unisys for 43 years and following retirement re-located to Dover, PA.

Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gratia M. (Poirier), also a native of Faribault (BA 1962); one daughter, Catherine M. Nagle-McKenzie and her husband Matthew S. McKenzie of Athens, GA; one son, Ryan P. Nagle and his wife Éva K. (Kalina) of Ashburn, VA; one grandson, Laszlo T. Nemes of Ashburn, VA; one sister, Marilyn K. Hines (BA 1961) of Rochester, MN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, Richard requested that any memorial gifts be directed to one of the following: Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation; Alzheimer's Foundation of America; Best Friends Animal Society, PetSmart Charities, or a local animal rescue or no/low-kill shelter; Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind ; Cancer Research Institute; Nature Conservancy; or Bethlehem Academy.

A Memorial Service celebrating Richard's life will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home and Crematory of Faribault at 12:00 p.m., on Sat., June 21, 2014. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
