Richard C. "Dick" Long, age 65, of Faribault, died on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at his home following an extended illness surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Rev. Henry Doyle, officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Richard Carl Long, the son of Raymond and Marion (Grant) Long, was born on September 24, 1944 in Faribault. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines. Dick then worked for many years at Nutting Truck and Caster Co. and later at Cardinal Glass for about five years. He married Julie Imberg on May 6, 1984. Dick enjoyed attending Flea Markets and Craft Shows and also growing African Violets. He is survived by his wife, Julie Long of Faribault; six children, Mark Fredenberg of Mankato, Lynn (Jim) Nelson of Rochester, Lisa Dewberry of Faribault, Lori Fredenberg of New Ulm, Ulita Lemon of Rochester, and Chris Long of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Mitchell, Samantha, Becca, Elizabeth, James, Tina, Rochelle, Wade, Daniel, Cole, and Dylan; great grandchildren, Terrance, Jaden, Caleb, and Willow; sister, Judith Kocina of St. Paul; nephew, Steve Kocina of Calif.; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and great granddaughter, Emma Lynn.
