Richard Lewis, son of Henry and Blanche (Mills) Grobe, was born on October 24, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN. Richard worked as a farmer for most of his life, but was also a machinist at E.F. Johnson. In 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served our country. He married the love of his life Arlene Tuve on May 17, 1950 in Elysian, MN. Arlene always said one of happiest days of his life was the birth of each of their 5 daughters. He will be most remembered for his undying love of his wife and family, as well as his love of friends and neighbors, travel, playing cards, fishing, sports, wooden treasures created for his family, and his endless energy and humor.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Scott) Taylor of Fairfax, VA, Karen (Frank) Weber of Independence, IA, Susan (David) Zimmer of Eatonton, GA, Donna (Randy) Renze of Ankeny, IA, and Sandra (Brian) Sjoberg of Shoreview, MN; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene, in 2013; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and John Castor; his brothers, Harold and Everett; and many other relatives and friends.

Richard's family would like to extend many thanks to the caregiving staff at Colony Court Memory Care Unit, Sister Lois, and Father Leif for the tender care, love, and compassion they provided to Richard during his final weeks of life.
