Richard "Rick" Carlson Jr., age 50 of Waterville, MN and formerly of Faribault, died on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.
Private family services will be held.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Richard Jon Carlson Jr., the son of Richard Sr. "Jack" and Bonita "Bonnie" (Anderson) Carlson, was born on December 28, 1965 in Meadville, PA. Rick attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1984. On November 21, 1992 he was united in marriage to Jennifer Moen in Farmington, MN. Rick and Jennifer lived in different communities over the years including Faribault, Farmington, Burnsville and Waterville. Rick worked most recently as a cook at Joe's in Faribault until his health required him to stop working. Prior to this he had worked for Service Master. Rick enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle, cooking, playing card games, bird watching and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carlson of Waterville, MN; by his children, Christopher (Amandalee) Moen of Morristown, MN, Erynn Moen and fiancé Jeremiah Johnson of Madison Lake, MN, Kaitlyn Carlson and Tavis Schmitz of Morristown, MN, Miranda Carlson and Skyler Blankenship of Waterville, MN, Heather (James) Kanzenbach of Faribault, MN, Trisha Carlson of Faribault, MN, Cassandra Brandon of Northfield, MN and Tyler Brandon of Faribault, MN; by eight grandchildren, Hadden, Mason, Lucy, Ryan, Jason, Zoey, Tristin, Wyatt and one due in November; by his mother, Bonnie Carlson of Elysian, MN; by his brother, David (Rhonda) Carlson of Elysian, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Carlson in 2012, by his nephew and by his grandparents.
