Reuben Youngerberg

March 31, 1924 — July 22, 2011

Reuben O. Youngerberg, age 87 of Janesville, died on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Janesville Nursing Home.             Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill, with the Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will be in the Smiths Mill Cemetery.             Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Tuesday morning for one hour prior to services at church.             Reuben Otto was born on March 31, 1924 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Herman and Martha (Glamm) Youngerberg. He attended Blue Earth County Dist. # 148 country school. On September 1, 1948 Reuben was united in marriage to Verna Marie Bosacker. Reuben and Verna resided most of their married life on their McPherson Township dairy farm in Blue Earth County. He was a former member of the Blue Earth County Dairy Herd Improvement Association and the American Dairy Association. Reuben was an active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill, having held various offices over the years. He enjoyed fishing and time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Vicki) Youngerberg of North Mankato, and Larry (Holly) Youngerberg of Caledonia; by his 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; by his brothers Clarence Youngerberg of Brainerd, and Herb (Eleanor) Youngerberg of Waterville; by his sister-in-law, Helen Youngerberg of Janesville.             He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Verna on January 26, 2007, his brother Harold Youngerberg, and sister-in-law Ruth Youngerberg.
