Raymond J. Springer

Raymond J. Springer, age 62, of Faribault, MN, passed away December 17, 2023, at his home following a brief illness.

Raymond Joseph was born on March 26, 1961, in Faribault, MN, to Rudolph and Delores (Soukup) Springer.  He attended Faribault High School and South Central College for carpentry.  Ray was married to Ronda Ozmun on January 14, 1984, they had two sons and were later divorced.  He worked at Crown Cork & Seal for 10 years and at Malt-O-Meal, later Post Brands for about 30 years.  Ray loved to fish, and enjoyed watching football, cars, and woodworking/carpentry.  He also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and canning.

He is survived by his sons, Adam Springer (Zarafina Venzuela), and Alex Springer; their mother, Ronda Springer; his siblings, Darlene Schinke (Mike), Richard Springer (Loretta), Diane Savoie (Jim), Randy Springer, Donna Wendt (Alan), Robert Springer (Connie), Debbie Merrill (Paul), Dorothy Wille (Dale), and Roger Springer; sister-in-law, Mary Springer; longtime friends, Mark Hanson and Maria St. Louis; and by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Delores; brothers, Ronald Springer and Reuben Springer; and his father-in-law, Charles Ozmun.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.  Interment will follow at Trebon Cemetery in Shieldsville Township, Rice County, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice in memory of Ray.
