Raymond Fitzloff

Raymond H. Fitzloff, age 70 of Clear Lake, SD, formerly of St. Clair, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, SD.    Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 14th at 3:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin, Officiate. Interment will be next to his parents at St. John's Cemetery off Hwy. 83 in St. Clair, MN.    Raymond Herman was born Friday, March 29, 1940 in Mankato, MN to Raymond Martin and Anne Frances (McNamara) Fitzloff. Ray grew up in St. Clair on the family farm and helped his dad with the farming until 1976.   On June 28, 1964 he married Mae (Thisted) in Albert Lea, MN. He lived on the family farm and worked at various companies in the Mankato area including Birds Eye, Dunlap Meats and Carney Insulation.  The family moved to Watertown, SD in November 1984. Some of Ray's favorite activities were camping, playing horseshoe, fishing, and playing cards, especially kings in the corner and cribbage.    Ray is survived by Mae Fitzloff of Fargo, ND, and his four children, Dawn (Bill) McGregor of Elysian, Cheryl (Dean) Feiock of Mina, SD, Karl (Mirna) Fitzloff of Shakopee and Mark (Melissa) Fitzloff of Fargo, ND; by his eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, Dylan, Danielle, Kameryn, Brianna, Kennedy, and baby boy Fitzloff (Karl and Mirna); by his sisters, Colleen (Dean) Roberts, and Edith Mettler, and by several nieces and nephews.      He was preceded in death by his father in March 1979 and his mother in March 1972; by his infant sister Carol Ann, and brother-in-law Bill Mettler in February 1977.
