Rachel L. Long, age 77 of Faribault, MN, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness, surrounded by her family.
Private family services will be held.
Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault at a later date.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Rachel Leona, the daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth (Hartman) LeMieux, was born on March 22, 1939 in Faribault, MN. She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1957. She was united in marriage to Thomas Fredenburg and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1970. Later she married Richard Long and they were later divorced. Rachel worked as a desk clerk at the Bell Tower Inn in Rochester, MN for 10 years until she had to stop working because of health reasons. Rachel enjoyed being at home and collecting pictures of her family. She enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching blankets for her grandchildren and also enjoyed watching them grow up. She also collected rosary beads and angels and always looked forward to decorating for the different holidays during the year.
She is survived by her children, Mark Fredenburg of St. Peter, MN, Lynn (Jim) Nelson of Wabasha, MN, Lisa Dewbery of Faribault, MN, Lori Fredenburg of New Ulm, MN, Ulita LeMon of Medford, MN and Chris Long of Minnetonka, MN; by 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; by her siblings, Tom LeMieux of Phoenix, AZ, Dianne Stam of Faribault, MN and Gerald (Carol) LeMieux of Faribault, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, great granddaughter, Emma Blanck and two sisters, Pat Jandro and Kay LeMieux.
