Phyllis Goin

Phyllis Ann Goin (Benjamin), 73 years old, of Ham Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2020.  Born January 10, 1947 to Philip and Slest Benjamin.  Loving wife to Harold, adoring mother to Nick (Cara) Goin and son-in-law Noah Oberg.  Beloved sister to Linda (Ken) Caron, Pat Jensen, Elaine (Steve) Trnka, Teresa (Mark) Olson, John (Wanda) Benjamin, Jackie (Larry) Scott, Susie (Ross) Morrison and in-laws: Verna (Steve) LeMay, Verne (Patti) Goin and John (Barb) Goin. Also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Jane Benjamin, sister-in-law Barb Goin and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by twin sibling Philip, Jr. (Sharon), sister Becky, brother Larry, parents Philip and Slest Benjamin, daughter Kay Goin-Oberg, brother-in-law David Jensen, and brother-in-law Jim Goin.

Phyllis Benjamin was born at the St. Lucas Hospital in Faribault, MN.  She graduated from Northfield High School in 1964, then attended The Minneapolis School of Business and was employed at Northwest Bancorporation in Minneapolis. Phyllis married Harold Goin on July 26, 1974. She loved her family very much - they brought much joy to her life. She enjoyed gardening, shopping (mainly L.L.Bean, Target and Starbucks) bird watching, spending time with her family, eating out (specifically at Carol’s), was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, was known for making her infamous egg rolls at Christmas, and let’s not forget the many afternoon Frappuccinos!  One of her most prized possessions was her Department 56 Village.  She had quite the collection and proudly displayed them all during the holidays.  Her strength and loving care for her family will not be forgotten.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at The Gardens of Castle Rock (26601 Chippendale Ave, Northfield, MN 55057) on Friday June 26 from 5pm-8pm.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation in memory of Phyllis (PO Box 1081, Chanhassen, MN 55317).
