Pearl M. Southwick, age 90, of Pemberton, MN died on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in Mankato following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Medo Lutheran Church with Pastor Laurie Stoeger officiating. Interment will occur at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family or to Medo Lutheran Church.
Pearl Matilda, daughter of Rex and Myrtle (Nelson) Wilson, was born on February 4, 1924 in Faribault County at her home near Minnesota Lake. She worked in the machine department at E.F. Johnson for most of her life before retiring in 1986. She was married to Ira Southwick at the Little Brown Church in Iowa on March 12, 1941. Pearl loved spending time in her flower garden, croqueting afghans, going to church, and babysitting her grandchildren.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Myrtle Weyhrauch of Rochester and Sandy (Loren) Fette of Pemberton; twin sons, Doug (Cathy) Southwick of Medford and David (Cella) Southwick of Waseca; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Georgia) Wilson of Delavan; and by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ira Southwick in 1999; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 6 sisters-in-law; 6 brothers-in-law; 1 son-in-law; and by 3 great-grandchildren.
