Pearl H. Olsen, age 103 of Waseca passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with Fr. Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at the Freeborn Cemetery in Freeborn, MN.
Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Pearl Helen, the daughter of Ole and Anna (Bjerke) Paulson, was born on December 20, 1912 in Cross River Township, Littlefork, Minnesota. Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Viggo Olsen. After they were married, they lived in different communities including Owatonna, Albert Lea, Wells and Waseca. Pearl worked mostly as a nursing assistant at nursing homes in Albert Lea and Owatonna along with raising her family. Viggo preceded her in death in 1956. Pearl enjoyed spending time with all of her family and especially time with all of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going out with her TOPS ladies, crocheting, knitting and needle point.
Pearl is survived by her four children, Elaine Sletten of Owatonna, MN, Clarence (Rozella) Olsen of Virginia, Jim Olsen of Waseca, MN and Janice (Victor) McNeese of Albert Lea, MN; by 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren; by her brother, Carl Paulson of Arizona and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, five brothers, Leonard, Lester, Gustav, Olaf, and Harold Paulson; and six sisters, Marie, Olga G., Selma, Olga P., Hilda, and Bernice.
