Paul L. Cloutier, age 86 of Faribault, MN passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Emeralds of Faribault following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault with Fr. Kevin Kenney officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Paul Leon, the son of Paul A. and Anna (Solberg) Cloutier, was born on November 4, 1932 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault High School. On June 12, 1954 he was united in marriage to Elgia Hansen at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. They were later divorced. Paul worked for over 40 years in the sheet metal industry, working on different jobs that included layout, programming and fabrication. He worked for many years at Hansman Industries in Stillwater, MN and also Superior Steel in Eugene, OR. Locally Paul worked for a period of time at Mercury Minnesota and McQuay’s. Family was an important part of Paul’s life along with his faith life. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin up north that he built by himself, listening to Classical Music, fishing and going for walks at the River Bend Nature Center.
He is survived by daughters, Jacquelyn (Robert) Kuhlman and Teresa Goettl, both of Faribault; grandchildren: Robert (Sandra) Kuhlman and Lisa (Jay) Paquette, both of Faribault; Nathan (Kari) Kuhlman, Northfield; Justin (Jamie) Kuhlman, Owatonna; Amanda (Brian) Gieschen, Minneapolis; Jordan (Austin) Peterson, St. Francis; Ryan Cloutier, Shakopee; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Glynn, LaVonne Mogren, Kathy Keilen, Janice Ellerbusch, James Cloutier, Russell Cloutier all of Faribault and David Cloutier of Santee, CA; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; daughter, Michelle Cloutier; son, Rick Cloutier; great-grandson, Gabriel Kuhlman, six brothers, Gerald, Neil, Charles, Norman, Donald and George Cloutier.
